Soumya Kanti Datta

Soumya is a Founder and Partner in Future Tech Lab (FTL), an IoT and Smart Cities start-up company in India. FTL develops customizable, scalable and easy to use software solutions that aim to power products and services in smart home, wearables, connected vehicles and smart city spaces. His participation to this workshop is from Academy from IoT (A4IoT), an FTL initiative that promotes specialized training and certification in IoT. Soumya has previously worked on French national and EU H2020 projects. His activities focus on innovation, standardization and development of next-generation technologies in the IoT, Healthcare and Smart Cities. He has published more than 60 research papers and articles in top ACM and IEEE Conferences, Magazines and Journals. Soumya is a member of IEEE, IEEE Communications Society and IEEE Consumer Electronics (CE) Society. He leads the activities of IEEE CE Society Future Directions Team on IoT and is an Associate Editor in IEEE Consumer Electronics Magazine. He has also served several IEEE Conferences and Workshops in many capacities. He is also actively involved in oneM2M, W3C Web of Things Working Group and contributing to their standard development activities. He obtained an M.Sc in Communications and Computer Security from Telecom ParisTech (EURECOM), France.

Raja Kumar Murugesan

Taylor’s University, Malaysia

Raja Kumar Murugesan is an Associate Professor of Computer Networks at the School of Computing and IT, Taylor’s University, Malaysia. He has a PhD in Advanced Computer Networks from the Universiti Sains Malaysia, and has over 26 years’ experience as an educator. His research interests include IPv6, and Future Internet, Internet Governance, Network Security, Blockchain, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, and Affective Computing.
He is one of the founding members of the Internet Society (ISOC) Malaysia Section, member of the Malaysia Technical Standards Forum Berhad IPv6 (MTSFB-IPv6) Working Group, Asia Pacific IPv6 Task Force (AP-IPv6TF), Internet Society (ISOC), IPv6 Forum, IEEE and IEEE Communications Society, and associated with the Asia Pacific Advanced Network Group (APAN), Internet2, and Malaysia Network Operator Group (MyNOG) members community. Raja also has substantial influence in professional, community, and outreach activities that is demonstrated by the various roles he has undertaken.
